Miranda Downs was the northern-most property owned by the Stanbroke Pastoral Company, which has 10 other cattle stations in Queensland and a feedlot and abattoir. After owning it for 24 years, the company sold Miranda with 55,000 head of cattle and a 6,000-megalitre Gilbert River water licence that has the potential to be developed for.
The Clark County fair was located there for awhile; then the area was used for a racetrack for horses and dogs called Bagley Downs. People who wanted to go to the fair or the races took the streetcar to Falk, a station on the edge of Mr. Falk's property, at about where SR 500 is today.
